About Us

Freightrade is a means of all those engaged in the freight industry from small couriers to large Hauliers to communicate with one another "FREE" with a view to keeping one another informed of both empty space on vehicles and of goods that require transporting at the best possible rates. The idea being that hauliers with space on their vehicles can pick up goods en route hence turning dead space into paying loads. Enabling hauliers to move goods at lower than normal rates (hence getting the job) with better margins, or the ability to do a job which would otherwise have gone to a competitor.

We recognise that in these difficult times we all have to help each other as an industry.

Freightrade has been set up by experienced hauliers who understand the business as opposed to a group of web designers, and it is our goal to have a trading platform that works for everyone as opposed to a site that makes lots of money just for the site owners.

With this in mind Freightrade will remain free to use for all users both in the short and long term.

We will make our money from using the system ourselves, hence enabling the growth of our core business which remains road haulage, not web site development.

We are a UK Haulier and have used a number of freight / vehicle outsourcing sites with very limited success due to high fees restricting membership & other problems such as bad payers etc. We have now decided to solve this problem.

I am sure you will understand we do not wish to burn our bridges with the existing freight web sites until Freightrade is fully up and running. We will "come out of the closet" at some point in the future, in the meantime please accept our invitation to use the site free of charge both now and in the future.

Please note that all companies wishing to sell work on the site will need to submit to a credit check before being accepted.
